Edith
Seydell Stanfield Carter, 85, of Bandera, entered her eternal rest at
her residence on Friday, April 7, 2006. She was born on September 14,
1920, in Danville, Virginia, to John Samuel Stanfield and Maggie Dell
Hines Stanfield, being the fourth of 11 children born to them. On
April 17, 1937, in Greensboro, NC, she married Joseph Daniel " Buddy"
Carter, her loving husband of 69 years, who survives her.Other
survivors include two daughters: Shelba Jean Gonzales of Bandera and
Pamela Lynn Marcotte of Conroe, TX; three sisters: Peggy Walker, Agnes
Allen of Woodlands, TX and Joyce Ann Schuetze of Willis, TX; a
brother, Jessie Stanfield of Bryan, TX; six grandchildren; thirteen
great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren; along with a
host of adoring nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. She was preceded
in death by her parents, two sisters, Dorothy Van Cleave Ramsdell and
Frances Manuel, and four brothers, Lester, Jack, Arnold, and Donald
Stanfield.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 9, 2006, at 2:00 P. M., at
Grimes Funeral Chapels in Bandera with Chaplain Jack Cook,
officiating. Interment followed in Bandera Cemetery with Paul
Gonzales, Kevin Marcotte, Michael Prewitt, Bucky Jones, Derrik Miles
Stanfield, Keith Boring, and Eddie Daniel serving as pallbearers. |
