David Elbert Fullington, 71, of Bandera
passed away Sunday April 16, 2006 in a San Antonio Hospital. He was
born on October 17, 1934 in Marshfield, Missouri to Elbert and Letha
Goodnight Fullington.
He served in the United States Air
Force from March 1955 to February 1959. Following his discharge from
the Air Force, he worked as a San Antonio city transit bus driver; he
was a salesman for Sears for several years, then was a driver
for Kerrville Bus Company and Taulk Tours. His last job was driving a
bus for Bandera Independent Schools. He became a Master Mason in San
Antonio and was raised on June 10, 1976. In 1997 he retired and
moved to Bandera where he was a member of the Bandera Masonic Lodge
#1123. He was a member of the San Antonio Scottish Rite and was a
member of the Order of Eastern Star, Bandera Chapter No 643. He
was a life member of the Goldwing Road Riders Association and
currently with Kerrville Chapter K-2. He was a member of Twin
Lakes Baptist Church and served on the board of the Twin Lakes
Christian School. He loved his Masonic brothers and Eastern Star
sisters. He was very close to the Twin Lakes Baptist Church Family. He
loved riding his Goldwing trike and spending time with his motorcycle
buddies.
He was a wonderful husband, father,
brother, and the best friend anyone could ever have.
Mr. Fullington is survived by his
wife Doris L. Fullington, his son Jeff Fullington of Atlanta, Georgia,
daughter Julie Townsend and spouse Rick of Yukon, Oklahoma, step-son
Robert Stinson and spouse Gloria of San Antonio, step-daughters,
Debbie Johnson & spouse William of Converse, Susan Canady of San
Antonio, Sheryl Trevino & spouse David of Austin; his sister Patsy
Gintz & spouse Lewie of Lyon, NE, brother Jerry Fullington & spouse
Kay of Lee Summit, MO, sister Evelyn Shifflett and spouse George of
Kokomo, IN; 13 grandchildren, Tanya Machado, Kristi Johnson, Brooke
Fullington, Dustin Townsend, Stacey Fullington, Cody Macklin, Megan
Canady, Kyle Stinson, William Johnson, Isaac Trevino, Elysia Trevino,
Shannon Stinson, & Henry Schmitt.
He was preceded in death by his
parents Elbert Fullington & Letha Goodnight Fullington Blazor.
The family will receive friends at
the Funeral Home on Wednesday April 19 between 5 and 8 pm. Services
will be held on Thursday, April 20 at 2 pm at Grimes Funeral Chapels,
with Mr. Martin Smith and Rev. Raymond Wells officiating.
