It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Corrine Joan Howard (née Mastrobuono), who passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026.

Born on October 29, 1937, in Providence, Rhode Island, Corrine lived a life she often described as "blessed." Looking back at nearly nine decades of life, she wrote, "What a blessed life. I wouldn't change a thing." Those words beautifully reflect the way she lived-with gratitude, humility, and a heart full of love.

Corrine's gentle spirit, warm smile, and compassionate heart made everyone around her feel welcomed, valued, and loved. Kindness wasn't something she tried to be; it was simply who she was.

One of the greatest blessings in her life was the love she shared with her husband, Louis. They met in 1954 on a double date. Although they were not each other's dates, they were smitten and shortly began dating after. She was just fifteen years old, and from that moment on, they were rarely apart.

Waiting just one week after Corrine graduated High School, June 25, 1955, they wed and began a marriage that would become the foundation of a beautiful life together spanning more than seven decades.

Together, they built a life filled with faith, perseverance, and love. They worked side by side for many chapters, raising their three sons while building businesses and creating opportunities wherever life led them: from California to Texas and ultimately to Kerrville. Through every success and every challenge, they faced life hand in hand.

But if you asked Corrine what mattered most, she would've talked about her family. Her greatest joy was simply being together. Holidays spent together, afternoons visiting on the porch, card games that brought laughter, and moments surrounded by the people she loved were the memories she treasured most. Family was her greatest pride, and greatest blessing.

When playing cards and games, her quiet competitive spirit often came out. She also cherished traveling with Louis and their dear friends on RV adventures, creating lifelong memories.

Corrine was blessed with a loving family, including her devoted husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many extended family members who will forever carry her love with them. She was endlessly proud of each of them.

Although our hearts are broken, we are comforted by the incredible example she leaves behind. She taught us that life is measured by kindness, loyalty, generosity, and the love we give to others. She showed us that the greatest legacy we can leave is a family who knows they are deeply loved.

Corrine was preceded in death by her parents, Eugenio "Eugene" Mastrobuono, and Dorothy Mastrobuono; brother, Eugene Mastrobuono; son, Keith Howard; great-granddaughter, Karla Hurt.

She is survived by:

Her son, Steven Howard (wife, Michelle); grandson, Sean Howard (wife, Kassi) and great-grandchildren, Adelyn, Abbott, McKinley, and Oaklyn; granddaughter, Shalyse Howard and great-grandchildren, Samantha, Tanner, Hazel, and Trevor.

Her late son, Keith Howard: granddaughter, Brooke Daigger (husband, Matthew) and great-granddaughter, Ava; and granddaughter, Nicole Larimore (husband, Eric) and great-granddaughter, Olivia.

Her son, Gregory Howard (wife, Ree); grandson, Christopher Howard and great-grandchildren, Greyson and Aria; and granddaughter, Ashley Elkins (husband, Buck) and great-grandchildren, Otto, Louise, and Margot.

Her niece, Tina Hardenburg (husband, Billy).

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Corrine's assistant of 43 years who we consider family, Barbara Bingham, caregivers-Peterson Hospice-Caring Seniors-Michelle Martinez, and Danielle Ross-for their dedicated and compassionate care.

A memorial service is to be conducted at ten o'clock in the morning on Friday, 14th of August, at Grimes Funeral Chapels, 728 Jefferson St. in Kerrville.

Celebration of life to be announced soon.
