Beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Bill Gene Maddox passed away peacefully with his daughter and son by his side, on February 25, 2025, in Boerne, TX. He was born in Bazaar, KS, to Oscar and Blanche (PeeWee) Maddox.

Bill lived a very full and rewarding life as a saddle bronc and bareback rider, rancher, horse trainer and farrier, in the Texas Hill Country, touching the hearts of all who knew him. He applied his trade and skills all over the state. He was said to be patient and gentle with the rankest of ponies. Many people say they picture Bill whenever the word cowboy is mentioned. He was a veteran of the Korean War in which he served in the Army.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Wilson and husband Adam Wilson; son, Billy Maddox; grandchildren, Dakota Maddox, Ashlynne Maddox, Alyssa Maddox, Andrew Maddox, Hannah Wilson, and Cade Wilson; and great-grandchildren, Calli Mae and Naomi Paige Byrom.
