Michael graduated from Gilmer High School in 1996 where he ran track and was very active in the band. He attended Beeville College on a music scholarship.
Michael was always in a leadership position which led him to HEB where he was highly recognized and recently promoted to management.
Michael enjoyed spending time with his family who meant the world to him. He also enjoyed kayaking, exploring the Hill Country on his motorcycle, camping, and hiking with his two German Shepherds, Sable and Millie. He enjoyed spending his free time with his wife and kids at the river.
Michael is survived by his wife, Inger Knight, whom he referred to as Baby Doll; and his two loving sons, Jayden and Bryce of Kerrville, TX; his dad, Claude Alan Knight and his wife, Virginia Knight; his mom, Paula Scott and her fiancé John Tyre; his stepdad, Gary Wilkins; his sister, Mary Knight and her fiancé Akeyra Anderson; his two nephews, Keinon Johnson and Daniel Mendoza; his three nieces, Angelina Vargas, Kailah Anderson, and Maddy Mendoza. He has numerous aunts and uncles as well as numerous cousins.
Michael was also blessed with a huge HEB family and many lifelong friends. Michael never met a stranger and was larger than life. Michael was truly loved and will be greatly missed.
A memorial service honoring Michael's life will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 21st, at the chapel of Grimes Funeral Chapels. A reception will follow immediately after the service.
