Santa M. Juarez, 95, of Kerrville, passed away on October 19, 2025, in Boerne, Texas. She was born in Kerrville on July 23, 1930. She married Gerald Juarez on April 13, 1956, in Kerrville.
Santa attended Tivy High School and graduated with the class of 1950. She worked for the Veterans Administration as a staffing assistant and retired after 31 years. Santa championed for Hispanic civil rights for many years.
Santa was preceded in death by her parents, Apolinar and Eulalia Medina; her husband, Gerald Juarez; and brothers and sisters, Enrique ''Henry'' Medina, Alice ''Licha'' Arreola, Minerva Ruiz, Socorro ''Corrine'' Lopez, and Paul Medina.
She is survived by her two children, Jessica ''Mitzi'' Butsko and Jerry ''Jay'' Juarez with his wife Karen; three grandchildren, Jason Butsko and his wife Jordan, Alexandra Butsko and her husband Candido Mejia, and Daniel Butsko; two great-grandchildren, Greyson and Dakota Butsko; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville with Deacon Jimmy Bill officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Kerrville.
