I worked remotely with and for Ron on geology projects for close to 45 years. And in an adult lifetime of studying Biblical Creationism, Ron freely and patiently answered many scientific questions in that process to my unscientific mind. In short he taught me an enormous amount that benefited many.
Ron was a major driving force in subsurface geology and oil and gas exploration in Kerr and surrounding counties since his college days at then Texas A & I and now Texas A & M Kingsville. Besides his geologic work nationwide and worldwide.
Talked to Ron in HEB about 3 weeks ago and had been attempting phone contact when I found his obituary. He was a good friend that I will miss. My sympathies and condolences to Harold and family and the extended family in South Texas that I met at his Mother’s funeral.

Oh how I will miss Mr. Ron!! He was a tough cookie to crack, but I was persistent and he answered his door with a smile every time afterward, each of us wishing the other a good day when we parted. He was one of my favorites on my meals on wheels route. This one hurts my heart. My condolences to Harold. ~ Carrie

Mr. Knoke showed great kindness each time I saw him when I delivered his meal. I will miss his smile.
