Edward ''Gene'' Dunks, 83, of Center Point, passed away on November 16, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born in Houston to David Henry and Lerline Burk Dunks on February 10, 1942. He married Martha Keith on August 31, 1963, in Houston.

He graduated from Bellaire High School in 1961. He received his mathematics degree from Baylor University. He worked as an exploration and production supercomputer programmer at Texaco for 33 years. He lived his life as a devoted Christian, finding joy and purpose in serving his church community. His faith guided him through every season, and his presence was a blessing to all who knew him.

Gene was preceded in death by his mother, Lerline Burk, and his father, David Henry Dunks, as well as his sister, Linda Harrison, his son, John David, and his daughter, Martha ''Betsy'' Elizabeth Dunks-Thompson.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 62 years, Martha Keith Dunks and their daughter, Mary Katherine Iley. Survivors also include six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose love and guidance will be missed by all.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Friday, December 12, 2025, at Center Point Christian Church, 100 Church Street, Center Point, TX. Interment will follow at the Center Point Cemetery.
