Cecil Walter Holliman, Jr. proudly known as Honey, Dad and Poppy, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his residence on November 23, 2025.

He was born March 28, 1940, in Houston, TX to Cecil Walter Holliman and Maureen (Mayfield) Holliman. He married the love of his life, Sharon (Allen) Holliman on August 10, 1962, in Channelview, TX.

He attended Houston schools, and in 1958 was part of the very first graduating class of the brand-new Channelview High School.

He was proud to tell people that he attended Texas A&M University and used his talents in business to own and operate several businesses in Houston until opening A to Z Appliance Center in Kerrville, which he owned and operated for over 20 years until his retirement in 2013 after being diagnosed with Parkinsons.

To avoid being drafted into the Army, he enlisted into the United State Airforce, where he worked as an intelligence specialist during the Vietnam War.

He had many hidden talents such as participation in trick skiing competitions, golfing, to which anything more than a 68 and the game was over for the day, which was rare, because he was just that good. He was an accomplished musician, singer, songwriter and avid guitar player, playing and recording songs with entertainers like Mickey Gilley, BJ Thomas, The Big Bopper and Roy Orbison, just to name a few. He liked to tell everyone that his musical talents were thanks to Gene Autry for being a part of our family tree.

Probably his most favorite pass time was the years he spent piloting his Cesna Airplane and traveling with his family to Grandma's house, the Davis Mountains and everywhere in between.

Cecil was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Hollyne Gosdin; mother-in-law, LaVerne Dominque, who he adored; and his son, Trent Holliman, born sleeping in 1972.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Sharon Holliman; a daughter; a son; daughters, Shea (Adam) Bankhead and Lisa Holliman; 11 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Impact Christian Fellowship with Pastor David Danielson officiating.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Alamo Hospice, Grimes Funeral Chapes, Pastor David and Cindy Danielson and our entire Impact Church family.

We are blessed to have so many friends that became more like family, that the list would be too long, but please know we love you and are forever thankful for you.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville.
