Marilyn Biggers Webb Vordenbaum, beloved wife, mother, grandma, teacher, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 3rd, 2026, at the age of 88 surrounded by her loving family in Kerrville, TX.

Born May 17th, 1937, in Lufkin, TX, Marilyn was the daughter of Carl and Mary Lee Biggers. She grew up in Beaumont, TX and graduated from Beaumont HS in 1955. She continued her education at Lamar University, where she earned her Bachelor's and Master's degree in Education and Music. Marilyn began teaching in Lumberton, TX and dedicated her whole self to teaching for 27 years before becoming Principal for the Lumberton ISD Intermediate campus.

Throughout her life, Marilyn stood firm as a source of unwavering love, strength, and guidance to her family and friends. She married Bob Webb on June 16th, 1956, and spent 47 years building community wherever they laid their hats. Bob passed away in 2003, and with God by her side, she was gifted another love story with Harvey Vordenbaum. They were married on September 11th, 2004, in Kerrville, TX where they shared 21 beautiful years together.

Marilyn had a passion for teaching, music, and fostering her relationship with God, which she enjoyed with great enthusiasm. She was known for her comforting advice, knowing looks, and a mastery of all things musical. May her notes echo within the hearts of all who knew her.

Keepers of memories include husband Harvey Vordenbaum, daughters Elizabeth Webb and Sue Ellen Webb, granddaughter Meagan Frankie Woeltjen, and numerous relatives and friends who were blessed by her joy and light.

A celebration of life to honor Marilyn's time on this Earth will be held at the Kerrville First United Methodist Church, located at: 321 Thompson Drive Kerrville, TX, on Saturday January 17th, 2026, at 2:30pm. All who were touched by Marilyn's radiance are invited to attend to pay their respects and share their memories.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Marilyn's memory to Hill Country Youth Ranch, which held a special place in her heart.

My prayers for the girls as they navigate through this difficult time. Mrs. Webb was loved by so many and left her "mark" on those who were lucky enough to have had her.

I am so sorry to see that your mom has passed away. She was such a lovely lady and had such a strong impact on my decision to pursue my career in music. May God rest her beautiful soul, and may you find peace, comfort, and strength in knowing that she had such a strong impact on so many people in which she had contact. Micheal F. What can I say about Mrs. Webb (I spent so many years calling her that!) She taught us songs that we still sing today. Don Gato, I can sing a rainbow, and others. Several years ago I found one of our music books from Intermediate school and I posted something on Facebook. There were so many people that had commented on everything they remembered from her class. At the bottom of the post, she commented how wonderful it felt to still be remembered. Thank you Mrs. Webb for instilling in us a love for music that still resonates today. Her memory and legacy will be continues every time someone sings one of her songs. Rest Easy!!!

Marilyn hired me as a teacher at Lumberton Intermediate School in 1993. She called me on a Saturday and asked me to come for an interview that day, and I was hired on the spot. I am so thankful to have had her as my principal as I have so many special memories. Rest in peace. 🙏

Love,

Mrs. Webb will always be Mrs. Webb to all of her “kiddos,” no matter what name life brought later. My heart is heavy hearing she has passed, but I am so thankful God placed her in my life.

It’s been 50 years, and it still amazes me how clearly I remember her—her songs, her little sayings, the way she could make you feel seen and safe, and the way she gently guided us into being better people. She didn’t just teach reading and math… she taught us kindness, confidence, and how to treat each other. Some of the friendships and memories that started in that classroom happened because she took the time to nurture our hearts, not just our minds.

Mrs. Webb left a mark that time can’t erase. I am one of so many who grew up carrying her encouragement with us, and I know her love and influence will keep living on through every “kiddo” she ever taught.

She will be so missed down here, but what a reunion we will all have one day. Until then, thank you, Mrs. Webb, for everything. Rest in peace, sweet teacher.

Mrs Webb was such a very special person to so many of us. Especially when she grabbed you by your ear. That’s how she made sure that she had your attention, but that’s also how we knew that we had her attention. What a sweet and wonderful childhood she was such a big part of. Thank you for dedicating so much of your life to us. Prayers for your beautiful soul, and peace and comfort for your family.
