George J. Marines Sr. (Jose), of Kerrville, Texas, passed away on March 15, 2026, in Kerrville Texas. He was born in Kerrville, Texas to Ernesto and Natalia Marines on July 2, 1936. He married Petra Delgadillo on May 12, 1966.
He went to Tivy High School in Kerrville, Texas and completed some hours at Schreiner College (University). He worked at the VA in Kerrville. George was a veteran of the Vietnam war and served in the United States Air Force for 20 years and retired and enjoyed playing golf and umpiring softball games. He worked countless part time jobs in the Helotes school district before he fully retired.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Ernesto and Natalia Marines; brothers, Arnulfo and Saragoza Marines; and his wife, Petra Marines.
Survivors include son, George Marines and Gloria Marines (daughter-in-law) and son,
Gregory Marines.
Rosary and visitation will be at 5 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2026, at Grimes Funeral Chapels.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Grimes Funeral Chapels with full military honors and burial to follow at Gardens of Memories Cemetery.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all the staff at the VA's nursing facility Eagles Landing, VA hospice, Audie Murphy, Peterson Regional Hospital, Calvary Temple Church and Notre Dame Catholic Church as well as all family and friends.
