Born and raised in Kerrville, Bob built his life and legacy in the community he cherished. He was the proud owner of Cason Pump, a business he faithfully operated for 40 years. His work ethic, honesty, and willingness to help anyone in need made him a trusted name and a friend to many.
Bob married the love of his life, Virginia, on July 27, 1974. Together they built a family rooted in love, resilience, and faith. Bob was preceded in death by his father, Robert Allen Cason Sr., his mother Dessie Mae (Nell), and his son Bo Cason.
He is survived by his wife Virginia Cason; his sons Ronnie (Starling) and Rusty (Tori); his daughters Britney, Kierstan, and Megan; his grandchildren Callie, Cece, Ethan, Lane, Kaitlyn, and Paislea; his brother Calvin Cason; his sister Hattie (Mike) Prather; and his sister Jonell Diefenderfer. Being ''PaPa'' was one of the greatest joys of his life, and his grandchildren were the light of his days.
Bob loved God deeply and was known for his gift of healing through prayer. Many found comfort, strength, and hope through his faith-filled words and gentle spirit. He also loved BBQing, and he was especially known for his brisket - something he took great pride in sharing with family and friends. He found peace in the simple rhythms of caring for his cows, a part of his life that brought him joy and quiet satisfaction.
Bob's legacy is one of kindness, steadfast faith, and unwavering devotion to his family. He will be remembered for his warm smile, his generous heart, and the way he made everyone feel seen and cared for.
A viewing will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 2:00 p.m., also at Grimes.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Kerr County 4H at texas4hfoundation.org in Bob's name, honoring his love for community, youth, and the values he lived by.

Very sad to hear of Bobby’s passing. Much love to all of the family; you are all often in my thoughts. Bobby and Virginia were a part of a church family who helped shape me and for that I will be forever grateful. Big hugs to all of you.
