He worked as a plant supervisor/engineer for a major computer company, Bond Technology. He excelled with his career traveling to Guadalajara, Mexico; California; Austin and Arlington, Texas, opening several new locations. Richard finished his career here in Kerrville, TX at Allplastics.
He was a wonderful husband, dad, Po-Po, and uncle known to family as Tio Duck. He loved playing golf, spending time with his family, being the best Po-Po ever and he most definitely loved his Dallas Cowboys.
Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Patsy Duckworth; father, R.B. Duckworth; sisters, Frances Alvarado and Alice Gullie; brothers, Robert and Rudy Duckworth; and grandparents, Juan and Manuela Ayala.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Adelita (Ja-Ja); daughter, Nina Duckworth; grandchildren, Makayla and Matthew Martinez and Lilliana Oliva; sisters, Virginia Dailey, Christina Evans, Tina Lackey and Rosie Gutierrez; aunt, Rachel Lara; and several nieces and nephews.
Rosary will be held at 6 PM, Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Grimes Funeral Chapels.
Mass will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Notre Dame Catholic Church with burial to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Nina Duckworth, Antonio Ayala, Martin Reyes, Joey Barrron, Hector Chavera and Alex Flores.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to Alamo Hospice.

Richard you will be missed by so many people. You had the biggest heart!! I will forever think of you when playing football squares and me still not winning the entire season and us laughing about it as you always won.
