Jimmy Wayne Stacy

Jimmy Wayne Stacy, 79, of Kerrville, Texas, passed away on June 8, 2025, at Peterson Hospital in Kerrville. He was born in Waco, Texas to Grace and Levi Stacy on December 4, 1945. He married Debra Schmitmeyer on February 14, 1992, in Bellville, Illinois.

He went to school in Kilgore, Texas. He graduated from the University of Texas with a master’s in microbiology. He worked as a Director of Laboratory Services for a number of hospitals throughout his career, most recently retiring from the Methodist Hospital in Fredericksburg, Texas.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting sports, collecting fine firearms and woodworking projects. He was known as an expert marksman including being awarded a championship for metallic silhouette competition.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Grace and Levi Stacy.

Survivors include wife, Debra Stacy; daughter, Jennifer and husband Chad White; brother, Marshall Callaway; sister, Judy Edwards; grandchildren, Caleb and wife Katy, Jackson, Benjamin, Luke, Lillie Kate, Jedidiah; and great-granddaughter, Ella.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday June 11, 2025, at Grimes Funeral Chapels, 728 Jefferson St., Kerrville, TX.

The family would like to invite you to a reception and celebration of life immediately following the ceremony at The Chapel at Juniper Village, 135 Plaza Dr., Kerrville, TX.
