Peggy Modeen Barber Homeyer

Peggy Modeen Barber/Homeyer, 85, Kerrville/Ingram TX, passed away on November 8, 2025, in Kerrville, TX. She was born in La Feria, TX, to Arthur Garrett Gunn and Edith Alpha Winner on July 1, 1940. She married MJ “Bud” Barber on September 11, 1965, in San Antonio, TX.  

She went to school at La Feria High School. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years at several companies over the years. She was a member of the Kerrville Eastern Star and the Kerrville Red Hatters Club. Some of her favorite things to do were cooking and her crafts. She loved Elvis and John Wayne. She also loved watching old Westerns and Rodeos. 

Peggy was preceded in death by her husbands, MJ “Bud” Barber and Rex Homeyer; both her parents; a brother, Sonny Gunn; and her sister, Sue Edwards.

Survivors include three daughters, Kimberlei Barber/Mackey and husband Donald Williams Jr., Tammy Stevens and Cynthia Stevens; her brother, Danny Gunn; and sister, Betty Groves. She has 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 5-7 pm, Friday, Nov. 14, 2025, at Grimes Funeral Chapels, Kerrville, TX.

Funeral services will be at 1pm, Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, at Devine Evergreen Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Robert Palmer, Wesley Palmer, Micheal Gray, Taylor Dawson, Hunter Gray and Lukas Palmer.
