Beverly Barclay Collie, 92, of Beaumont, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2022, in Kerrville, TX. She was an only child, born to Dr. Watt Barclay and Myrtle Miller Barclay on April 19, 1930, in Huntsville, Texas. She married the love of her life, Daniel Lane Collie, on December 20, 1952, in Woodville, Texas.

Beverly grew up in Woodville, graduated from Kirby High School, and went on to attend the University of Texas at Austin, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics. Upon graduation, she returned to Woodville to teach school for the two years Dan served in Japan during the Korean War. The couple moved to Beaumont shortly after they married, when Dan began working as an attorney for Sun Oil Company. When Sun Oil closed operations that would require them to move, Dan joined a private law firm, and they chose to make Beaumont their ''forever'' home.

Beverly was devoted to her community and as such, was a lifelong volunteer and supporter for organizations in the Beaumont area including Junior League of Beaumont, Beaumont Heritage Society, Symphony of Southeast Texas, Art Museum of Southeast Texas, Neches River Festival, Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, and CASA of Southeast Texas. CASA and its vision and mission were particularly close to her heart, and she was involved with the program for many years from its beginning in 1992. She loved her family and friends, the beach, keeping up with news and current events, watching Longhorn football, and her Southeast Texas roots! Back in the day, she was always game for a road trip shopping spree to Nuevo Laredo and loved frequent family ski trips to the mountains of Colorado.

Beverly is survived by three daughters, Susan Collie Holmes and husband Doug of Casper, Wyoming, Laura Collie Hayes and husband Jim of Beaumont, and Catherine Collie Schulte and husband Steve of Kerrville. ''B'' will also be missed by eight grandchildren, Stephen Holmes (Liz), Lyle Holmes, William Holmes (Jeanette), Barclay Stratton (Lia), Andrew Stratton (Lisa), Robert (Mosettee Lorenz), Laura Schulte, and Scott Schulte; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Dan Collie; parents, Watt and Myrtle Barclay; aunts, Edice Miller Hines and Blanche Miller Shaw; and cousin, Patrick Hines.

Our family thanks Brenda Whittaker and her staff at 220 Harper Assisted Living Residence in Kerrville, the nurses and staff of Peterson Hospice, and numerous additional caregivers who answered our call (Dolores Villafranco, Eloisa Cortez, Ashley May, Denise Guana, and Ericka Bazan) for the loving care you gave our mother and our family during the last months of her life. A special thanks to Jeanette Jamilkowski for loving, caring, and advocating for her the two and a half years she lived in Kerrville. We also thank Gladys Feacher and Maria Caballero for many years of assistance and friendship in Beaumont. We are eternally grateful for all of you.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 12, 2022, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 680 Calder Avenue, Beaumont, Texas followed by a reception in the St. Mark's Cloister.

Beverly was famous for gifting those she knew with an unexpected little ''lagniappe'' from time to time. In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to CASA of Southeast Texas, Inc. (2449 Calder Avenue, Beaumont TX 77702), St. Mark's Episcopal Church (680 Calder Avenue, Beaumont, TX 77701), or Peterson Hospice (250 Cully Drive, Kerrville, TX 78028).
