Irene Lestarjette Gilmore went home to the Lord on Thursday, January 8, 2015. Irene was born August 2, 1919 to Fred and Clara (Usener) Lestarjette in San Antonio, TX. She married Lee Boyd Gilmore on October 1, 1938.\r\n \r\nIrene enjoyed volunteering at the Hill Country Youth Ranch thrift store as well as at CAM. She was a member of the Kerrville Trail Blazers and enjoyed walking, traveling with friends, cooking for her family and playing games on Saturday evenings with her church family at Western Hills Baptist.\r\n \r\nIrene was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Harry, Walter, and Edgar Lestarjette; grandsons, Troy Allen Nelms, Darwin Lloyd Nelms, Jr., and Fred Bryant Gilmore, Jr.\r\n \r\nShe is survived by her daughter, Claire Nelms, sons, Fred Gilmore and wife, Patti, and Boyd Gilmore, all of Kerrville; 4 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.\r\n \r\nServices will be held Monday, January 12, 2015, 2 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels officiated by Brother Frank Pullin. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.\r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Peterson Hospice, Hill Country Youth Ranch and/or to CAM.\r\n \r\n[contact-form-7 id="73" title="Send Condolences"]
