Nettie Mae "Penny" Kruger, 78, of Bandera, passed away on January 28, 2017 in Kerrville. She was born in Red Lion, PA to Merrill Leik and Elin McSherry Leik on July 7, 1938. She married Hank Kruger on May 20, 1988 in Kendall County.\r\n\r\nShe graduated from Red Lion High School. Shortly after, she joined the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Jacksonville, FL.\r\n\r\nPenny is preceded in death by her parents, Merrill and Elin McSherry Leik; her husband, Hank Kruger; and son, Terry Ferguson.\r\n\r\nShe is survived by her daughters, Brenda Horan and Bettie Gilmore; sons, Dennis Ferguson and Scott Ferguson; grandchildren, Ashlee Horan, John Henry Horton and Tyler Horan; great grandchildren, Adyson Horan and Garrett Horan; sisters, Lois Leik Crone and Brenda Lee Leik Cave, both from York, PA; and brother, Terry Leik of Rochester, NY.\r\n\r\nA memorial service will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera. Burial will follow at Moore Memorial Cemetery at 2:00 PM.\r\n\r\n
