Marion 'Lea' Barnes Stiles Hacker, age 93, of Center Point, TX, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, surrounded by family. \r\n \r\nLea was born on January 9, 1924, in Titusville, Florida to Calvin Isaiah and Grace Evelyn Curtis Barnes. She had one sister, Norma Jean Creel. \r\n \r\nOn June 27, 1942, she married Herman Stiles in Columbus, TX. Together they made their home in Pasadena, TX where they raised their three children. Mamarea, as she was affectionately called was present at the birth of each and everyone of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Above and beyond anything in life she loved and cherished her kids and grandkids. They could do no wrong, ever. \r\n \r\nLea worked as a bookkeeper in the Pasadena area for many years. In 1978 she, along with Herman, took over her familys apartment complex in Pasadena. Herman passed away in May of 1986, shortly after retiring from Champion Paper Mill. She later married John Hacker and moved to Center Point in 1990, where they lived until his passing in 2003. She continued to stay busy, raising goats, cows and horses at her place on the banks of the Guadalupe River. She was a lover and caretaker of all animals, with a particular love for dogs and cats. Nothing brought her more joy and happiness than having a family gathering with lots of good food or a shrimp dinner at La Fours in Kerrville, her all time favorite place to eat. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. \r\n \r\nLea is survived by her daughter, Lana Baker and husband Sonny of Kerrville; her sons, Jeffrey "Butch" Stiles and wife Sheila of Center Point and Bruce Stiles and wife Debby of Rosharon. She has 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. \r\n \r\nA graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 12:30 PM, at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston. Pastor Frank Richard Coats, a son of one of her lifelong friends, will be officiating. \r\n \r\nThe family would like to express their appreciation to all who cared for her at River Hills Health and Rehab and also to Peterson Hospice. \r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in Lea's name to Freeman-Fritts, a Hill Country No Kill Animal Shelter (www.freemanfritts.com) or a charity of your choice. \r\n
