Reita Perryman Crossen Vander Zee, 88, of San Antonio, TX passed away Friday, June 22, 2018 in San Antonio. She was born in Corsicana, TX to W.C. Slick Perryman, Sr. and Margaret Morris on Christmas Day, December 25, 1929. \r\n\r\nShe and her brothers were raised on a farm in Rural Shade, TX. They later moved to Trinidad where she attended Trinidad High School. After graduating high school, she worked as a telephone operator in Tyler, TX, and then moved to Dallas, and was a stewardess for Braniff Airlines. In Dallas, she met and married Harold Samuel Crossen. They had two daughters, Carla and Carol Crossen. \r\n\r\nShe later married Rein John Vander Zee of Bandera, and made her home there with her two daughters. \r\n\r\nReita was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, W. C. Bill Perryman, Jr., Tom Perryman, and Earl Jones, Jr; husbands, Harold Samuel Crossen and Rein John Vander Zee; and step-son, Rein John Vander Zee, Jr. \r\n\r\nShe is survived by daughter, Carla Crossen Barron of Bulverde, TX, her husband Mike, and their children, Christina and Michael; daughter, Carol Crossen Meyers (Vail) of Medina, TX, and her husband Bill; step-daughter, Lea Vander Zee Grisemer of Austin, and husband Rian, and their daughters, Hannah and Julia; and brother, Billy Ferrell Jones, of Tullahoma, TN; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Perryman of Athens, and sister-in-law, Billie Joyce Perryman of Tyler; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. \r\n\r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 AM, Friday, June 29, 2018, at St. Christophers Episcopal Church in Bandera. Interment will follow at the Episcopal Cemetery. \r\n\r\nPallbearers are Mike Barron, Bill Meyers, Michael Barron, W. C. Chip Perryman III, Russ Vander Zee, and Randy Evans. \r\n\r\nThe family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to The Haven at Stone Oak and their excellent nursing staff, and to Vitas Hospice Care in San Antonio. \r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Reitas name to a charity of your choice.\r\n\r\n
