Katie Spurlock, 83, of Kerrville, TX passed away on Monday, August 27, 2018. She was born in Lufkin, TX to Eugene Howard Morris and Bertha Stine Morris on April 9, 1935. She married Nyles Spurlock on August 18, 1955 in Lake Charles, LA.\r\n \r\nKatie taught school for 37 years. She loved her family above all else and spent as much time as possible with them. She loved to travel, read, paint and play poker.\r\n \r\nKatie was preceded in death by Nyles Spurlock, her loving husband of 51 years.\r\n\r\nShe is survived by son, Wesley Skip Spurlock of Norco, CA; daughter, Tammy Gettman (Brett Brouse) of Grand Junction, CO; daughter, Suzie Robinett (Gary Rafferty) or Kerrville, TX; daughter, Buzzy Stocks (Mike) of Rock Springs, WY; 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and many other loved family and friends.\r\n \r\nShe was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church for over 30 years. \r\n \r\nA memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville, TX. \r\n \r\nThough we have lost our wonderful mom, God has gained a beautiful and sweet angel. She will spread her arms to cover and protect us until we see her again. \r\n\r\n
