Geneva Hayes, 89, of Kerrville, went to be with the Lord on May 25, 2019 surrounded by her family and loved ones.\r\n \r\nShe was born in Rockne, Texas to Leo and Ida Seidel Kadura on November 21, 1929. She married Oscar Hayes on June 2, 1947 in Bastrop, Texas.\r\n \r\nShe attended St. Anns Catholic School in Rockne which the Kadura and Seidel families were founding members. She devoted her life to her husband and children. She was best known as Nan or Aunt Geneva to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. \r\n \r\nGeneva was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oscar Hayes; son, Stephen Hayes; and grandson, Donald Hayes. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Gilbert, Leo and Adolph Kadura and sisters, Helen Duelm, Celestine Rabel, Annie Kadura and Edith Powell.\r\n \r\nShe is survived by her children, James (Connie) Hayes, Dorothy (Bob) Hampton, Gloria Vlasek and Shelia (Kevin) Mays; brother, Valen Kadura; sister, Bernice Rooks; sisters-in-law, Lucille Kadura and Marie (Kenneth) Schwartz; grandchildren, Gary Mowdy, Sherry Johnson, Demetri Box, Chris Hayes, Chad Hayes, Kim Davis, Elisa Walton, Melissa Shaw, Christina Schneider, Michael Martinez, Eric Martinez, D.J. Chapman, Samantha Hayes, Stephanie Hayes and Ryon Mays; as well as 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.\r\n \r\nVisitation will be held from 5-6 PM followed by a rosary at 6 PM on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Grimes Funeral Chapels.\r\n \r\nMass will be held at 9:30 AM, Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Notre Dame Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Glen Rest Cemetery.\r\n \r\nPallbearers will be Michael Martinez, Eric Martinez, D.J. Chapman, Chad Hayes, Jeffrey Walton and Ryon Mays. \r\n \r\nMemorials may be made to Peterson Hospice.\r\n \r\nThe family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Klaus Schroeder, Dawn Pardue, Julie Kibbett, Cassie Taylor, and all of Peterson Hospice.\r\n
