Louis Vincent Roney, passed away on May 17, 2021. Born on April 2, 1965, in San Antonio, to parents Lou and Betty Roney. Louis was a proud graduate of Southwest Texas State University, with a Bachelors Degree in Environmental Science. \r\n\r\nLouis was an artist, master carpenter and loved nature. He spent countless hours studying his familys lineage and making detailed books with his findings. In his free time, you could find him hunting fossils, designing and building furniture, writing poetry, listening to music, studying space, tending to his chickens, and playing with his dog Kiowa.\r\n\r\nLouis loved his son and his family deeply. Throughout the years, he always had a desire and the hope for a better life. This was evident up to his last days, with the texts and poetry he wrote. Many, outside of his family, loved Louis unconditionally. The messages he received from people who loved and cared for him were too numerous to count. He left this world knowing all of us loved him no matter the circumstances. \r\n\r\nLouis is preceded in death by his Grandparents; Louis and Margaret Roney, Stanley and Mary Cooper. His Aunt, Susan McCullough and Uncle, Howard Elitringham.\r\n \r\nHis life will forever be cherished in the lives of his family: Son, Louie Roney, parents, Lou and Betty Roney, and sister and brother-in-law, Amy and Perry Deckard. Nephew and niece Lee and Darla Deckard. Tristan Kurz, who he loved like his own and devoted mom to Louie, Terri Macharro. Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. His beloved Kiowa and LIttle Kitty. \r\n\r\nFuneral services will be held at 10 am, on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at St. Peters Church in Boerne, Texas. Burial will follow at the Sisterdale Cemetery, in Sisterdale, Texas. \r\n\r\nMemorials may be given to the National Parks Conservation Society, The Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation, and The Planetary Society.\r\n\r\nThe family invites you to send condolences at www.grimesfuneralchapels.com by selecting the Send Condolences link.\r\n\r\nFuneral arrangements are entrusted to Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera. \r\n \r\nIn regards to flowers please contact Millie and Marie Boutique at (830)328-5045.

"I’ve searched for Louis and thought of him, fondly, for years. He was such a dear person in my life — wheb life wasn’t always filled with light. I’m so sad that I never got to tell him.

I’m sorry for your loss"
