On Saturday December 4, 2021 our father, George Lothrope Ryder, was suddenly called home after a short illness. George was the son of two school teachers, Carleton and Esther Ryder, of Barnstable, MA where he spent his childhood. Before recently settling in Kerrville, TX, George spent years living in south and central Florida. He was not only an active member of Kerrville Bible Church but also a part of the Impact Church family in the Texas Hill Country.
George had a passion for aviation and engineering. He spent years working for names such as Sikorsky, Eastern Airlines and Walt Disney World contributing to the safety of thousands of people over his career.
He believed in family and the values it teaches, and loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren dearly. He is survived by four children, 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. In addition to those mentioned, he is survived by extended family held dearly to him by his big heart.
His family took the time to celebrate him during the holidays (his favorite time of the year) and will be honoring his life on June 30, 2022 at 3:30 pm at Impact Church in Kerrville, TX.
In lieu of flowers, please honor his memory by donating to a rehab facility of your choice to support George’s heart for those fighting the challenge of addiction.
