Roger wasn't born in Texas, but he got here as soon as he could.
Roger John Butzen was born January 18, 1945 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin and died March 31, 2022.
He lived most of his younger years in California and spent his entire career as a top salesman in the book printing industry.
A talented musician on acoustic, electric, and pedal steel guitars, Roger was also an accomplished Country Western dancer and for the last thirty years has built scale model engines from scratch in his machine shop. Not only are these working models, many of them are on display in an Arizona museum, where everyone can enjoy their detailed precision.
Roger leaves his wife, Maridee, son Scott, daughter Tracy, grandson Dylan, sisters Rosemary and Suzy, plus many nieces and nephews. Hardest to leave: his beloved Australian Shepherd, Sophy.
A special thank you to Dr. Young and Peterson Hospice and a very special thank you to Dr. Joseph Vinas for his advice and guidance through the maze of medical professionals.
