Walter Alvin Ard, 90, of Kerrville, passed away on May 24, 2022, in Fredericksburg, Texas. Walter was born in Kerrville, Texas to George and Ava (Brymer) Ard.

Walter graduated from Tivy High School in 1949 and attended Schreiner Institute in Kerrville and Baylor University in Waco. He worked in the Aircraft Products Group of Vaught Aircraft Company (Northrop Grummon) in Dallas, Texas for 33 years and was always proud of being part of the team that built the B-2 Spirit, Stealth Bomber. Walter served in the National Guard of Texas and the Army, 1949-1958, and was a lifelong member of the (Shriner) Freemasons. A charming man with beautiful smile and a fun sense of humor, Walter embraced life to its fullest.

Walter was preceded in death by his father, George E. Ard; mother, Ava B. Ard Deere; and sister, Elizabeth A. Ard (Walker) Tucker.

Survivors include his nieces, Glynis Morse of Leander, Texas and Janis VanderBerg of Fredericksburg, Texas; and nephew, Larry Walker of Dallas, Texas.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 2nd, 4-6 p.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville, Texas.

Graveside services will be Friday, June 3rd, 10:00 a.m. at Garden of Memories, Kerrville, Texas.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the nursing staff at Knopp #1 Nursing and Rehabilitation in Fredericksburg, Texas and Hill Country Memorial Hospice.
