Joyce Marie (Bryant) Bird, 95, of Kerrville, Texas passed away on September 25, 2023. She was born near Cullison, KS to Hugh and Ruby Bryant on October 9, 1927. She married Eugene A. Bird on December 31, 1954 in Pratt, KS.
She graduated from Cullison High School in 1945. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in St. Louis on August 10, 1941. Most of her adult life was focused on her ministry, as well as on her family.
Joyce was preceded in death by husband, Eugene; her parents, Ruby and Hugh Bryant; and her brothers, Donald Bryant and Philip Bryant.
Survivors include son, Barak and his wife, Jackie (Seery), Berryton, KS; daughter, Candace, and her husband, Joe Stroud, Medina, TX; grandchildren, Jeremy Stroud, Shannon (Stroud) Hoopman, Levi Stroud, Madeline (Bird) Taylor, and Coltrane Bird; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Fern Bryant and Janet Bird.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 pm, Saturday, October 14, 2023 at the Lawrence Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1802 E 19th St, Lawrence, KS 66044, with Jackie Terry officiating. Zoom access to the service will be available at Meeting ID: 819 6017 1516; Password: 785843. Burial will follow at a later time in Lewis, KS alongside her husband, Gene.
