Moving during Jack's career with the Texas Department of Public Safety, Janie lived in Pecos, Tyler, McAllen and Waco, until they settled in San Antonio (Leon Valley) where they resided for forty-four years, until Jack's passing in 2022. "Cody, I'm so very sorry for your loss, my thoughts and prayers are for you and your family. My son still has the note from them when meeting them in a restaurant for them all to figure out through conversation that you and I had worked together here. I know from our conversations how special she is and they both were to you."
