Memorial services for Robert “Bobby” A. Slater, 73, of Fredericksburg, who passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024, at his residence, will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Grimes Funeral Chapels officiated by Rev. Robert Lockaby. Lunch to follow at 12:00 noon at Trinity Church in Center Point.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents Marie Slater and Jack Slater.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Sandra Slater; daughter Leia McKinnon and husband Ross McKinnon; sister Betty Powell and husband Gary Powell; brother Jack Slater and wife Karen Slater; grandchildren Connor McKinnon and Kate McKinnon; nephew and niece; great nephew and nieces.

The family wishes to thank all who treated and took care of Bobby over the years. His spirit was willing but his body was not able to go on. A quote from our pastor “Bobby is having a Magnificent time, “Running” THESE STREETS OF GOLD. He IS NOT IMPRESSED WITH THE STREETS – HE LOVES HIS NEW LEGS”.
