Janet D. Jacob, 92, of Mountain Home, Texas, passed away on April 8, 2024, at her home. She was born in Terril, Iowa on October 14, 1931, to George and Mable Reining. She was married to John E. Jacob in Denver, Colorado.

Jan went to school in Tabor, South Dakota where her parents were farmers. Being the oldest of 8 children, she would harness horses and drive the old grain trucks.

Her 7 children were everything to her. Jan was known for her beautiful smile and the kindest of hearts. She would always find the good in anyone she met. Her strong faith has been a comfort knowing she is in the arms of our Lord.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Carl E. Jacob; great-granddaughter, Miah Sherrer; brothers, George Reining and Jerry Reining; and sisters, Darlene Bame, Del Wurtz and Donna Schellhouse.

Survivors include son, Steve (Sheila) Jacob, Hot Spring, Arkansas; daughters, Laurie (Duane) Kuntz, Hills, Minnesota, Tina Barnett, Mountain Home, Texas, Sheila (Roger) Garvin, Mountain Home, Texas, Theresa (Greg) Tolbert, Mountain Home, Texas, Diana James (Tom Hosetton) Mountain Home, Texas; daughter-in-law, Charlene Jacob, McPherson, Kansas; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brothers, Pat Reining, Colorado and Larry Reining, Tabor, South Dakota.

Services will be held at 9 AM, Friday, April 12, 2024, at Grimes Funeral Chapels, Kerrville, Texas.

The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Peterson Hospice and the numerous friends and family for the love and prayers during this difficult journey.
