Lonnie Horton Goodman Sr., 73, of Ingram, Texas, passed away on May 5, 2024, in Ingram at his home. He was born in San Marcos to John and Ruthie Goodman on January 2, 1951.He married Patricia Sheffield on October 2, 1971 in Ingram, Texas.

Lonnie Goodman Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruthie Goodman; brothers, Samuel Goodman and Larry Joe Goodman; sisters, Margie Hurst, Alice Hansen, Bonnie Brewer and Josie Matthieu.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Patricia Goodman of Ingram; sons, Lonnie and Quinett Goodman of Kerrville and John Goodman of Kerrville; daughters, Shirley and Christopher Valentine of Kerrville and Jessica and Jerre Williams of Kerrville; brothers, Tommy Goodman and John Goodman; sisters, Diane and David Wells, Wanda Goodman, Rosie Goodman; eleven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Lonnie Goodman Sr. was a well trusted man in our community. He held The World Champion Cedar Chopper title for many years. He had the honor of shaking Johnny Cash’s hand in Ingram at the outpost store, which he made everyone around him aware of how proud he was. He accomplished many things in his life.

Visitation will be held 5-7 PM, Friday, May 10, 2024, at Grimes Funeral Chapels.

The funeral service will be held 10 AM, Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Grimes Funeral Chapels, officiated by Pastor Del Way. Interment will follow at Nichols Cemetery.
