Jane Ebba-Elaine Heyn, dedicated wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed peacefully from this life on May 14, 2024, at the age of 78.

Jane was the youngest of 4 children born to Alfred and Anna Dreger in Alexandra, MN, on May 21, 1945. She worked for the Kerrville ISD for 20 years as a paraprofessional in the special education department before retiring in 2007.

She met the love of her life, Michael, who she often referred to as her “lover boy” at a family wedding and they were married on November 22, 1961. Her proudest accomplishments were their 4 children, Lisa, Dawn, Lee, and Matthew.

During her life, Jane, an avid churchgoer, loved to read the Bible and had a strong faith in Jesus Christ. She was the prayer warrior for her family. Having a passion for reading and writing poetry, she authored two books; “A Journey of Seasons” and “Apple Pie and Bigtooth Maples”. A desire to travel took the family on adventures across the country in various motor homes. Jane loved capturing moments with her camera and displaying them throughout her home. She especially loved the Christmas season and collecting snowmen and nativities. Jane enjoyed spending time with her family as she loved them very much. She was always involved and interested in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jane joins her loving husband, Michael (March 10, 2023); parents; and two sisters, Joyce and Judy.

She is survived by her children, Lisa Heyn (Dan Cowart), Dawn LaRonde (Gary), Michael Lee Heyn Jr. (Laura) and Matthew Heyn (Melinda); brother, Jim Dreger; loving grandchildren, Dustin Cowart (Jessica), Crysta Cowart, Trevor Crawford (Shannon), Adam Cowart, Anna Jones (Wade), Madison and Leighton Heyn, Brandon and Shane LaRonde; great-grandchildren, Hudson, Cora and Rowan Cowart, Noah and Ivy Crawford and Jack Jones. She will be forever in their hearts and missed every day. We know we will see her again.

Visitation will be held at Grimes Funeral Chapels on Sunday, May 19, 2024, from 4:00PM to 6:00PM and a celebration of life and memorial service will be held at Glen Rest Cemetery at 11:00AM on Monday, May 20, 2024.

Flowers and condolences can be sent to Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville, Texas (www.grimesfuneralchapels.com). In memory of Jane, donations can be made to your charity of choice.
