Bernice Evelyn Wootton, 88, passed away on February 16, 2025. The great-granddaughter of early Kerr County Pioneer and Judge Thomas Jeffress Wootton, she was born November 17, 1936 at the Moore Ranch in Hunt to Berney Delphia (McGrew) and Charlie Thomas Wootton.

Bernice attended Hunt School and graduated from Tivy High School. She married Harold Bunch in 1954 and had four sons, Donnie Bunch, Gary Bunch, Michael Bunch, David Bunch. She was an early member of the Kerrville Archery Club and won many first place trophies.

After working at Schreiner Bank, she became a very dedicated and long-time nurse at Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charlie R. Wootton; and sister, Joyce Dommert.

She is survived by her four sons and their wives; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and her sister, Gay Chadwick.

Burial will be held privately. Memorial services will be held at a later date.

"Sad to read about Bernice passing away. I took care of 2 of her grandchildren years ago. Jordan and Jonas attended Tivy Child Development Center, and Bernice was a regular visitor and a big help with all the children in our room.
