Gary E Kersey, 76, of Kerrville, passed away on November 15, 2025. He was born in Greenwood, Arkansas to Dick and Matilda Kersey on September 25th, 1949.

Gary went to MacArthur High School in San Antonio and was a graduate of St. Mary’s University and St. Mary’s Law School. He worked as an attorney in Kerrville for over 40 years, specializing in Estate Planning, Real Estate and Probate, and served as Kerr County Attorney in the 1980s. He was a veteran of the Vietnam war, serving in the Navy on the USS James E Kyes. During his years in Kerrville, Gary was involved in many civic, charitable and business organizations including the Lions Club, as a charter member of the Exchange Club of Kerrville, as a board member on the Chamber of Commerce, and an instructor at Schreiner University.

An avid sportsman, Gary’s favorite place on earth was on a boat with a fishing rod in hand, and he spent countless weekends on the Gulf doing what he loved best. When he wasn’t fishing, he was out hunting birds or shooting sport clays at the Buck an Bull club, where he was a senior member.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Matilda Kersey.

Survivors include his son, Michael Kersey; daughter, Jennifer K Miller; son-in-law, Daniel Miller; sister, Pamela Johnson and brother-in-law, Curt Johnson; and grandchildren, Ryley Cox-Kersey, Weston Miller, and Waylon Miller.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 in the morning on Tuesday December 2nd at Grimes Funeral Chapels. Burial will be a private service at Ft. Sam Houston.
