Doris Bea Merritt Ivy, of Mountain Home, Texas, born June 28, 1933, to Audrey Snodgrass Merritt and Walter Merritt, passed away December 20, 2025, peacefully at the Ranch on the Divide.

Doris is survived by her son, Mark Ivy (Glenda), daughter, Vanette Felton (Neal), and grandson, Dakota Felton.

Doris was a graduate of Tivy High School and went on to San Marcos for college.

Doris Ivy passed away peacefully, leaving behind a life deeply rooted in the land she loved. Doris lived at the ranch, where she found her greatest joy in the simple, honest rhythms of ranch life. The wide-open spaces, early mornings, and quiet evenings were where she felt most at home.

She loved the ranch not just as a place, but as a way of life--working hard, appreciating nature, and valuing self-reliance. Doris was known for her steady presence, her love of the outdoors, her deep connection to the land that shaped her days, and her love for God.

Those who knew Doris will remember her strength, her appreciation for the simple things, and the peace she found living close to nature. Her legacy lives on in the memories shared, the land she cherished, and the lives she touched.

Doris Ivy will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM, Monday, December 22, 2025, at Grimes Funeral Chapels.

Graveside services will be held privately.

We would like to thank Edna Reyes and Vanessa Lopez, Andrew and Alma Garcia and their families, Ruthie, Nena and Fatima for all their love and help, to Reneé Nichols for her care and love for Mom, to New Century Hospice, and to Candy and Denise for all your providing care you gave.
