Marilyn Biggers Webb Vordenbaum, beloved wife, mother, grandma, teacher, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 3rd, 2026, at the age of 88 surrounded by her loving family in Kerrville, TX.
Born May 17th, 1937, in Lufkin, TX, Marilyn was the daughter of Carl and Mary Lee Biggers. She grew up in Beaumont, TX and graduated from Beaumont HS in 1955. She continued her education at Lamar University, where she earned her Bachelor's and Master’s degree in Education and Music. Marilyn began teaching in Lumberton, TX and dedicated her whole self to teaching for 27 years before becoming Principal for the Lumberton ISD Intermediate campus.
Throughout her life, Marilyn stood firm as a source of unwavering love, strength, and guidance to her family and friends. She married Bob Webb on June 16th, 1956, and spent 47 years building community wherever they laid their hats. Bob passed away in 2003, and with God by her side, she was gifted another love story with Harvey Vordenbaum. They were married on September 11th, 2004, in Kerrville, TX where they shared 21 beautiful years together.
Marilyn had a passion for teaching, music, and fostering her relationship with God, which she enjoyed with great enthusiasm. She was known for her comforting advice, knowing looks, and a mastery of all things musical. May her notes echo within the hearts of all who knew her.
Keepers of memories include husband Harvey Vordenbaum, daughters Elizabeth Webb and Sue Ellen Webb, granddaughter Meagan Frankie Woeltjen, and numerous relatives and friends who were blessed by her joy and light.
A celebration of life to honor Marilyn’s time on this Earth will be held at the Kerrville First United Methodist Church, located at: 321 Thompson Drive Kerrville, TX, on Saturday January 17th, 2026, at 2:30pm. All who were touched by Marilyn’s radiance are invited to attend to pay their respects and share their memories.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Marilyn’s memory to Hill Country Youth Ranch, which held a special place in her heart.
