In Loving Memory
Lisa Marie Heimann Smith, of Kerrville, passed away unexpectedly on April 22, 2026. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on October 20, 1970, to Jimmie and Angie Heimann.
Lisa attended Tivy High School, where she was active in cheerleading and athletics. Friendly, energetic, and outgoing, she formed many lasting friendships that remained with her throughout life. She went on to attend Southwest Texas State University, where she earned a degree in Exercise and Sports Science.
While attending college, Lisa met Carl, who quickly recognized her tender and loving heart that would come to define her life. They soon married, beginning a journey of over three decades together. Those years were marked by love, family, laughter, and facing life’s challenges side by side, resulting in a bond that words cannot fully describe.
Lisa’s early adult years were devoted primarily to raising her three children and building her family, including homeschooling, which she took great joy in and was especially gifted at. She poured herself wholeheartedly into creating a loving home and invested daily in the lives of those closest to her.
Her own children were among the greatest joys of her life, but her love for children extended far beyond her own home. Babies especially brought her delight, and she had a heart so full of love that there always seemed to be enough to share with everyone she touched.
She spent countless hours investing in her children through every stage of growing up— coaching youth soccer, attending games, traveling to events, serving as Team Mom for several teams, welcoming friends into her home, and faithfully being someone others could count on for the moments that mattered. Her love was steady, visible, and generous. She treated many of her children’s friends with the same warmth, care, and affection she gave her own.
Lisa loved her family deeply, but her heart for people extended far beyond those closest to her. Whether it was a family gathering, a community event, or a trip to the store, she loved being where people were and where she could encourage, care for, and connect with others. If she spotted you in HEB, you were certain to enjoy a long conversation that slowed the shopping aisles and left you feeling encouraged and loved. She continually gave thoughtful gifts and had a unique way of making people feel loved and valued.
Every morning, you would find Lisa spending time in God’s Word—drinking her special home-brewed coffee and giving the first fruits of her day to Him. She sought to reflect His unconditional love through both her words and her actions, and she cared deeply about sharing that love with others. Her life was a steady example of faith, compassion, and encouragement, and she would want anyone reading this to consider the hope of eternal life that God has provided through faith in Him.
Lisa is survived by her husband, Carl Smith; her children and their spouses, Chase and Nikki Smith, Corey and Maggie Smith, and Shay and Hunter Taylor; her grandchildren, Simon, Koda, and Kai; her parents, Angela and Jimmie Heimann; her grandmother, Luise Zajac; her brother and his wife, Scott and Kris Heimann; her mother-in-law, Ann Smith; her stepmother-in-law, Julia Smith; her brother- and sister-in-law, Craig and Patty Smith and their children and grandchild; her aunts, Ann Willmann, Mary Heimann, Stella Lauria, and Lottie Pollack; and many beloved extended family too numerous to list here.
A memorial service will be held at Southern Oaks Baptist Church at 10:30 a.m. on May 9. A reception will follow at the same location, and all are welcome to stay and celebrate Lisa by doing what she loved most: gathering with family and friends and spending meaningful time together.
In lieu of flowers, the family is establishing a memorial fund with Southern Oaks Baptist Church in Lisa’s name to support ministries that were important to her.
