With hearts full of sorrow and eternal hope, we announce that Shaleah Lynn Hill, age 63, of Hunt, Texas, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 29, 2026. She passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by her husband and children, as her family worshiped and sang praises to the Lord while holding her tightly in her final moments.

Shaleah was born on February 5, 1963, in Kerrville, Texas, to William "Bill" Ed Vlasek and Donna Rea Meredith. She spent her life rooted in the Texas Hill Country and proudly called Hunt home. While she faithfully served in many roles throughout her life—as a beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, treasured sister, loving aunt, faithful friend, and caregiver—the role she treasured most was being a daughter of the King. Her love for Jesus Christ was the foundation of everything she did. She lived her life as a testimony to His goodness, sharing the Gospel boldly and planting seeds of faith in countless hearts. To know Shaleah was to encounter someone who genuinely loved people and wanted them to know the saving grace of Christ.

Shaleah dedicated much of her life to serving others. As a Licensed Vocational Nurse, EMT, and volunteer first responder with the Hunt Fire Department, she cared for countless people with compassion, skill, and a servant’s heart. Later, she carried on her family’s legacy by helping lead and operate Vlasek Pump Company, the business founded by her father, Bill Vlasek. Whether caring for patients, responding to emergencies, serving customers, supporting her family, or ministering to those around her, Shaleah approached every opportunity to serve with humility, dedication, and love.

She had a remarkable gift for nurturing life in every form. Her home was a place of comfort, encouragement, and refuge—not only for her own family, but for anyone who needed a mother's love. She had a way of making everyone feel welcomed, valued, and cared for.

She found joy in life’s simple blessings: filling her kitchen with good food and warm conversation, baking sourdough bread and freeze-drying goods to share with those she loved, caring for her beloved goldendoodles, and worshiping Jesus through conversation and song. Whether she was preparing a meal, offering a listening ear, praying with someone in need, or singing along to worship music, everything she did reflected her love for the Lord.

The countless seeds of faith she planted throughout her lifetime are impossible to measure. Her greatest desire was that others would know Jesus, and she faithfully shared that hope wherever she went. While her family grieves her absence, they rejoice knowing that she is now completely healed, fully restored, and worshiping face to face with the Savior she loved so dearly.

Shaleah's life was a beautiful example of faith, selfless love, and unwavering devotion to God. Her impact will continue to be felt for generations through the family she raised, the lives she touched, and the faith she so faithfully lived out.

Shaleah is survived by her loving husband, Douglas John Hill; her children, Douglas John Hill Jr., Sydney Brooke Sevey, Abigail Leigh Peaden, Ella Elizabeth Tinsley, and Catrina Cherie Fay Meinert; and her cherished grandchildren, Bethany Kay Lynn Beck, Rayleigh Renee Sevey, Elizabeth Elaine Meinert, Clayton Reese Sevey, Beaux Anthony Meinert, Kenzie Elise Hill, Jay Alan Tinsley, Case John Hill, and Camille Alice Tinsley. She is also survived by numerous beloved siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were forever touched by her love and faith.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." — Matthew 25:23

Until we meet again, we take comfort in the promise of Christ and the assurance that this goodbye is not forever.
