Colleen Rhoads, 91, passed away on June 22, 2026, in Kerrville, Texas. She was born in Maxdale, Texas to Dillard and Grace Renick. She married Jim Rhoads on May 17, 1952, in Lampasas, Texas. Together, they built a life centered on family, friendship and service to others.
Colleen attended Killeen High School in Killeen, Texas and went on to serve the community through a distinguished 35-year career with Civil Service at Fort Hood, Texas. She was also a proud Lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi. The friendships she formed through that organization lasted a lifetime and she cherished the many memories made with her friends.
Colleen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jim Rhoads and her parents, Dillard and Grace Renick.
She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Neilson; sons, Andy Rhoads and Jim Rhoads; grandchildren, Stacy Fritz, Dennis Whitfield, Stow Neilson, Jamie Garrett, Tug Rhoads and Tanna Goode; great-grandchildren, Lucy Fritz, Gage Fritz, Parker Whitfield, Lucas Myers and Reagan Rhoads.
Visitation will be 5-7 PM Wednesday, June 24, 2026, held at Grimes Funeral Chapels, Kerrville, Texas.
Funeral services will be held graveside at 2:30 PM Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Maxdale Cemetery, Killeen, Texas with Roy Brantley officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Peterson Hospice, Hunt Preservation Society and Dietert Center.
