Trish passed away at home in Kerrville, TX on August 3, 2026. She was born June 4, 1947, in Fresno, California, and spent most of her early life in Porterville, California with her parents, Howard Elmer Morrison and Truce Cecilia Morrison, and two older sisters, Doloros and Carol. They have all predeceased Trish.
Trish is survived by her husband, William Donivan "Don" Butler of Kerrville, TX. There were no children from this marriage but Trish has numerous nieces and nephews surviving, who live in several locations in the U.S.
Trish always loved to travel, meet and make new friends and everywhere they visited or lived, she left with life friends and great memories that continue to this day.
She was especially fond of the years they lived in New Zealand, Australia, and England, and at each place she was deeply involved in volunteer work. For her support of the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne, Australia, she was awarded an Honorary Life Governorship in appreciation.
They moved to Rockport, TX in 1991 when Don retired. She immediately became involved with The Keep Texas Beautiful Organization, and The Texas Maritime Museum where she served as Trustee, but kept time for her mahjong groups and joined Don for fishing and golf. Her favorite ladies golf group were called the “Wolverines of Rockport". Upon her moving to Kerrville, they presented her with a large plaque that reads "Trish Butler, Charter Member-who has the biggest swing, the longest drive, and the best hair of all the Wolverines" She loved it!
She loved Rockport but was excited to move to Kerrville for it meant new friends and the experience of living in the Texas Hill Country. She met and made good friends in the Saddlewood neighborhood where we lived. She did the same with the addition of golfing friends as we quickly joined the Comanche Trace Golf facility. While there she served as President of the Ladies Golf group for a time and on the Board of Directors for five years. Also, she was proud to have won the Ladies Club Championship for one year.
Trish was always attached to her puppy friends. The current puppy is a beagle/corgi mix rescue pup named Izzy, who is already missing her Mom. She stayed close to Trish during her illness.
Trish was a warm, kind soul, whose friendliness and happy nature will always remain in the hearts of her friends and especially her husband, Don.
To comply with Trish's instruction there will be no formal services.
In lieu of flowers, the Peterson Hospice Blessing fund is suggested.
