Larry Sheppard, 68, of Bandera, passed on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, in San Antonio. He was born in Corpus Christi to John W. Sheppard and Mary Ann Cobb Sheppard on February 1, 1958. He married Shelly Sheppard on November 3, 1984, in Kerrville.
Larry was a graduate of Tivy High School and the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science. He worked for Grimes Funeral Chapels for 20+ years. He was a veteran in the Air Force.
Larry was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Cobb and Mr. & Mrs. Sheppard; dad, John Sheppard; mom, Mary Ann Sullinger; stepdad, Jerry Sullinger; stepmom, Betty Sheppard; half-brother, Gene Sullinger; and brother, John Lee Sheppard.
He is survived by wife, Shelly Sheppard; daughter, Stephanie Sheppard Canales; brothers, David Sheppard, Gary Sheppard and Jerry Sullinger; granddaughter, Lyndsey Canales; and many other relatives.
Visitation is 5-7 PM, Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville.
Graveside services will be held at 10:15 AM, Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, officiated by Rev. John Onstott.
