Patricia Walker New, of Kerrville, Texas, passed away in the early morning hours of October 10, 2026, at the age of 84.

Patricia was born on September 26, 1942, in Aransas Pass, Texas, to Bill Walker and Esther Walker. Her early years were spent traveling throughout Texas as her family followed her father’s career as a professional baseball player. Eventually, her family settled in Orange, Texas, where Patricia would spend her high school years and meet the love of her life.

Patricia met Ronald Kilbourne New while they were in high school. Ronald played football for Port Arthur, while Patricia was a cheerleader for Orange Stark. Their high school romance blossomed into a lifelong love story, and the two sweethearts married in 1965. Together, they built a life centered on family, love, and devotion to one another.

Patricia dedicated her entire professional career to nursing. Caring for others was more than a profession; it was a calling that allowed her to share her compassion and make a difference in the lives of those she served. Through her work as a registered nurse, she devoted herself to helping others during some of their most vulnerable moments.

Her faith in Jesus was a guiding light throughout her life. Patricia loved the Lord deeply and found strength, comfort, and hope in her relationship with Christ. She was a member of Kerrville Church of Christ, where her faith remained an important part of her life. Her love for Jesus was reflected in the care she gave to others and the devotion she showed to her family. Her family finds comfort in knowing that she is now at peace in the presence of her Savior.

Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Kilbourne New; her parents, Bill and Esther Walker; and her siblings, Sylvia Bishop and Bill Edward Walker.

She leaves behind her two sons, Ronald Brent New and Michael Shane New; her daughters-in-law, Sharon New, Ellie Jesse, Alicia Scott, and Cara Blackledge; and her five beloved grandchildren, Barrett Seth Blackledge, Michael Ethan New, Charles Walker New, Garrett Kendall New, and Phillip Kilbourne New.

Patricia’s life was marked by love, faith, dedication, and service. From her Texas roots and the sweet beginnings of her lifelong romance to raising her family and caring for others as a registered nurse, she leaves behind a legacy that will continue for generations. She will be remembered for her devotion to those she loved, her commitment to serving others, and the faith that carried her throughout her life. Though she will be deeply missed, the memories she created and the love she shared will live on in the hearts of her family and all those whose lives she touched.

The family extends a special and heartfelt thank-you to Patricia’s caregivers, Kellie Jetton, Jill Reinhardt, and Peggy Wireman, for their kindness, compassion, and devoted care.
