Frederick (Rick) Bell Parkhurst, 78, of Kerrville, passed away on October 19, 2026, in Kerrville. He was born on January 11, 1948, in Denver, Colorado to Fred and Gladys Parkhurst.
He attended Rhode Island School of Design for undergraduate work and completed his master’s in architecture while studying under Louis Kahn. He worked in architecture and structural engineering through companies in London and Trinadad and eventually settled in Houston building homes in the West University area.
While in Houston, he met and married Nancy Haverfield. They had 2 children, Luke and Rachel Parkhurst. They moved to Kerrville, TX to raise their family in 1992. They were active in many activities around Kerrville and continue to reside in the same home they bought 34 years ago. Rick loved walking the River Trail and being in Kerrville.
Survivors include wife, Nancy Parkhurst; son and daughter-in-law, Luke and Lauren Parkhurst; daughter, Rachel Parkhurst; sister, Janet Parkhurst; brother, Bob Parkhurst; and his 4 grandchildren, Charlie, Evelyn, Abigail, and Julianna Parkhurst.
Memorial and spreading of the ashes will take place at a later date.
Rick loved deeply and was deeply loved. He will be missed.
